Dr. Brandan Keaveny is the principal consultant/founder of Data Ethics LLC where he specializes in professional consulting services in the areas of data governance, analytics, and privacy. Prior to forming Data Ethics, Dr. Keaveny served in the roles of school district administrator, college professor, and teacher of students with special needs. As a school district administrator at the levels of director and chief officer for accountability in two urban school districts, Dr. Keaveny groomed and built teams of professionals with varying degrees and areas of expertise in analytics and data governance to drive the strategic vision of the districts he served. In addition to his experience as a practitioner, Dr. Keaveny earned his Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of Rochester and has earned the ANSI-accredited designation of Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). Dr. Keaveny currently serves as the founding chair of the International Association of Privacy Professional’s KnowledgeNet Chapter for the Rochester and Buffalo, NY areas.

As an economist with over 20 years of experience with applied social science research methodologies, Ms. Cratty has extensive experience in data development and use with a specialty in compiling and analyzing state and local education agency data. Ms. Cratty has been on the cutting edge of the culture of P-20 data use within the field of education. As school districts and states sought to develop their data analytic capacity, both in-house and through RPPs, Ms. Cratty was sought after as a principal advisor, given her innovation and successes implementing these new complex, demand-driven research projects. With a deep background in data management and analysis, as well as a proven track record leading teams and working with various stakeholders.

Over the past decade Mr. Pereira worked in several marketing agencies and film distribution companies, in both the United States and Brazil. Before joining the Data Ethics LLC team, Mr. Pereira facilitated engagement through experiential marketing techniques to maximize brand awareness and demonstrate a product’s commitment to its customer. With expertise in the telecommunications market, Mr. Pereira managed the wireless services account for a top mobile communications company that involved managing a team of over 85 specialists. This team-based engagement involved Mr. Pereira developing and enhancing brand recognition and interaction across several markets in New York, Massachusetts, Maryland, District of Columbia, and Florida. Mr. Pereira also has expertise in logistical operations unique to the motion picture industry. This experience was concentrated to projects developed in Brazil that involved his participation in all stages of a film production. These responsibilities included the creation of marketing strategies to best premiere new movies into the theaters. With a commitment to the essential elements of what makes a business unique, Mr. Pereira brings a vision that pinpoints specific inputs towards the strategic aspect of a company’s identity. He continually brings new ideas and implements tailored actions for his clients.

Dr. Silvers has over 40 years of experience in the field of education. Dr. Silvers was the first Director of Testing for the Rochester City School District and developed a test administration, scoring, analysis, and instructional decision-making process that connect state assessments to the classroom. Her success with implementing a district assessment program made her one of the first modern day accountability officers in the nation whose primary focus was on the data management, protection, and use of student-level data. Dr. Silvers identified the data inventories available and identified the data systems and analysis practices that matched the needs of the district and its component schools. Dr. Silvers, given her vast instructional experience in the Rochester City Schools, created a community of data use, that empowered educational leaders and instructional specialists to best meet the needs of students.

Dr. Rege is an Associate Professor in Graduate Programs in Software at the University of St. Thomas. He has extensive experience teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level in varied instructional formats such as traditional classroom, online, and blended (hybrid). Dr. Rege's research has been applied to a number of domain problems in text mining, Web Analytics and mining K-12 education data. He has published in various peer-reviewed reputed venues such as IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering, Data Mining & Knowledge Discovery Journal, IEEE International Conference on Data Mining, and the World Wide Web Conference. He is on the editorial review board of Journal of Computer Information Systems and regularly serves on the program committees of various international conferences.
